Due to Coronavirus Processing Delays – the most accurate processing times may be found online. Taxpayers must allow 20 weeks or more for processing. If you filed your amended return more than 20 weeks ago, call the IRS directly at 800-829-1040 and review the FAQ link on the IRS webpage.

You can generally expect your amended return to be processed up to 12 weeks from the date we receive it. It can take up to three (3) weeks from the date you mailed it to show up in our system.
